When the install was being done Daniel and I talked about caulking between the house and the pergola in order to prevent water leaking in from the rain. Daniel wanted to caulk along the bottom. I felt this would still allow the water to build up between the house and the pergola. Plus, aesthetically we would be able to see the caulking. We decided it would better to do the caulking along the top of the pergola and the house. We discussed that it may not even be necessary. As of now, every time we have a heavy rain storm water leaks in. We need to have a tech come back and seal resolve the leaking.
